Guidance for planning portfolio work for AQA and OCR GNVQ Unit 1

Introduction
Note this document is not intended to be an interpretation of the unit syllabus. You should contact the advisor for the relevant exam board for any clarification of the syllabus content. The document is intended to provide guidance on planning the delivery of the unit to help give students the scope to meet the assessment criteria. It also makes some suggestions about generating evidence to meet the criteria. The document is relevant to the AQA and OCR syllabus which assess this unit via portfolio evidence. It is not relevant for Edexcel who carry out external assessment for Unit 1.

The key to this unit is careful planning in order to choose a suitable variety of original and existing documents which will enable the students to meet the assessment criteria.
